It was quite a surprise when a mate of mine came up to me enquiring whether I would be interested in photographing for one of New Zealand’s major tournaments. I had fiddled around in the photography scene for a while and got my first camera when I was around 16. It was mostly a hobby, but since I had my camera on me, I lent it to this friend when he was keen on taking some photos for the Opens season 2024. After that tournament, I had somehow nudged him into purchasing a state-of-the-art Canon R5 on a whim. Luckily, I got a chance to use it for NZMUC Div 2 (New Zealand Mixed Ultimate Championships).
I’ll stop blabbering, and I will let you admire 30 of my favourite photos I took over the weekend.
Last but not least, I was really lucky to be able to film simultaneously, which inspired me to try to make something similar to a Nathan Kolalovic-type video. It is nowhere near as good, but it has also sparked a slight fondness for video editing in me.
